Our Story

Joe Nugent is the proud owner of Nugent & Co., L.L.C., and has been offering expert personal and business accounting and tax services to Portage, IN, and the surrounding areas for over 35 years. In 1983, Joe’s mother started the company and he was able to join the team in 1985, making it a family operation. Ten years later, the duo formed the limited liability company before Joe eventually took on the sole ownership role when his mother retired. We are grateful for the opportunity to provide excellent services to our community members.

Our accounting services include taxes, from preparation and unique strategies to filing. We also handle payroll, budgeting, and computer consulting to provide guidance and support as a certified public accountant. QuickBooks is an accounting software package by Intuit that makes accounting quick and easy, and we offer support to help you understand the software to utilize it. We pride ourselves on making the stressful aspects of your personal or business needs and making it a quick and painless experience.
